Sleeping Water

This year our KEVIN.MURPHY campaign SLEEPING WATER was inspired and shot in Tasmania and around the environs of Lake St Clair and Pumphouse Point. Known as the Big River Tribe, the original inhabitants call the lake Leeawuleena, meaning “Sleeping Water” where the land had remained untouched for twenty thousand years. Pumphouse Point was born in the 1930’s on the ideals of sustainability and minimal impact to this serene landscape to generate hydropower for its inhabitants, built 900 feet out in the lake, to house enormous water turbines for their hydropower system – an early example of sustainable energy generation. Today Pumphouse Point has been transformed into luxury accommodation with industrial buildings as an intimate retreat in the heart of World Heritage wilderness. A place to side-step daily life and connect with others in some of the most spectacular landscape on the planet.
